WORKSHOPS
We are pleased to offer a series of workshops aimed at supporting artists in their professional endeavors. To participate in these workshops, RSVP to 802-264-4839 or send an email to info@kasinihouse.com. All of these workshops are free of charge. (A fee may be collected at the Imaging Artwork Clinic for some services.)
Completing Your Application Clinic
Wednesday, February 20, 6:30-8PM
and Wednesday, March 19, 6:30-8PM
Location: Kasini House, 64 North Street, Burlington
In this free clinic, the producers of the 2008 Art’s Alive Festival of Fine Art will answer your questions about completing your Festival application, including what images you should submit to the jury, writing your artist statement and bio, and preparing your work for exhibition. At both clinics at 7:15PM, the producers will give a 15-minute overview of the Festival.
Writing an Artist Bio and Statement
Thursday, March 6, 7-9PM
Location: Kasini House, 64 North Street, Burlington
In this workshop, Ric Kasini Kadour presents the fundamentals and do’s and don’t’s for writing artist bios and artist statements. The group will then workshop each other’s bios and statements. Areas covered include good vs. bad art writing and using writing to advance your art career, increase your marketability and improve sales.
Imaging Artwork Clinic
Saturday, March 22nd, 10:30AM-3:30PM
Location: Kasini House, 64 North Street, Burlington.
This clinic is a chance for artists to get a consultation on their images. For those artists who need to get images of their work, professionals will be on hand to photograph or scan work. A fee is charged for this service. CLICK HERE...to read more about this clinic.
Financial Well Being for the Artist
Wednesday April 16th, 6-7:30PM
Location: Opportunities Credit Union, 18 Pearl Street, Burlington
This workshop, presented by Opportunities Credit Union, will help artists analyze their current financial position and how it relates to achieving their personal and business goals. A great opportunity for the micro-business person (aka the Artist) to discover the resources available and begin achieving their dreams. The workshop will end with a general question and answer segment, possible topics include micro loans, credit repair, and savings plans
Selling & Managing Your Art
Thursday, May 1, 7-9PM
Location: Kasini House, 64 North Street, Burlington
This workshop, led by Ric Kasini Kadour, walks artists through: documenting your work; organizing your art inventory to better communicate with galleries and to better promote yourself; pricing your work; and how to get your work out there to sell.
Framing and Readying for Exhibition
Wednesday, May 7th, 7-8:30PM
Location: Kasini House, 64 North Street, Burlington
Burlington artist, Master Framer, and Art’s Alive Board Member, Alex Dostie, will present this informative workshop on framing, including types of frames, framing materials and how to effectively and economically use framing to best present your work. In addition, participants will learn in detail how to make their work exhibition ready.
