STATEMENT
With oil on canvas, I express my perception of life and energy in the spirit of my generation. The essential connections I've had with other people, the emotions they have awakened in me, and the moments I've shared with them intrigue and inspire me. My images come from photographs I've taken of present day people in everyday life. I paint using brilliant colors and energetic patterns to express a positive visual statement regarding the power of relationships. I aspire to draw attention to the seemingly insignificant moments that make life beautiful, uplifting and significant.
BIO
I became an oil painter attending college in my home state. After receiving an art scholarship, I got my BFA at Green Mountain College including a semester in Florence. In Vermont, I gained commissions by showing work in local businesses and with representation by Taber Gallery in Mancheter, Vermont. Pursuing my art career, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina where I become a member of the Charleston Artist Guild and displayed paintings in their gallery. In the city I participated in many juried shows including the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, showed work during the city's French Quarter Art Walks and received an honorable mention for a painting done to represent the city's Food & Wine festival. Recently, with enthusiasm, I find myself back in Vermont where my career will continue to evolve.
