Art in the Windows
Bringing art to where people live, work, and play on the Church Street Marketplace. For over two decades, Art’s Alive has turned the Church Street Marketplace into a public gallery by matching artists with retailers who showcase artwork in their windows. Artists install over one hundred works of art. All of the artwork is for sale. Guided tours of the Art in the Windows are scheduled for June 4th at 6PM and June 12th at Noon. Art Map Burlington
Don’t miss the special coverage of this year’s Festival in the June issue of Art Map Burlington. Art Map Burlington reports on contemporary art in Greater Burlington: exhibitions, events, art venues, and the work of local artists. The monthly print publication includes independently written, critical reviews and articles as well as exhibition listings and maps to venues. Location: meet at Ben & Jerry’s Homemade (36 Church Street corner of Cherry Street) Join festival producers & artists on a guided tour of Art in the Windows. Artists will speak briefly about their artwork during this relaxed ninety-minute walk around the Marketplace. Participating Artists include Jean Cannon, Krista Cheney, Karen Geiger, Martha Hull, Wendy James, Phebe Mott, Marianne Nealy, and Leigh Ann Rooney.

Join artists, producers, and the Art’s Alive Board of Directors for an afternoon reception and awards ceremony. Awards are given include the Art’s Alive Festival of Fine Art Award, Art’s Alive Board of Directors Award, the Moulton-Steele Emerging Artist Award, and the Festival Catalog Cover Award.

Artist Talk: The Art of Primates
by Robert Wills
Location: Muddy Waters, 184 Main Street. Artist Robert Wills paints monkeys as a means of raising the consciousness of people regarding the situation of primates. When not painting, he helps people in many countries take better care of these close relatives. “As I paint, my hope is for the primate’s soul to expose itself to the viewer, its intelligence, curiosity, love and commitment,” said Wills. “I hope that their lives help to enrich our knowledge and awareness for their delicate survival before they are only known in history books.” The artist will deliver a brief talk about how he uses his artwork to raise awareness and inspire action. The event is free and open to the public.
