For twenty-one years, June in Vermont has been dedicated to celebrating contemporary art and working artists. The planning for the 2008 Art's Alive Festival of Fine Art is well underway. Here's a sneak peek of what's in store:
Exhibition at Union Station
At the heart of the festival is the exhibition at the Art’s Alive Gallery at Main Street Landing's Union Station on Burlington’s Scenic Waterfront.
Art in the Windows
For over two decades, Art’s Alive has turned the Church Street Marketplace into a public gallery by matching artists with retailers who showcase artwork in their windows. In 2007, we expanded the program to include other downtowns.
Church Street Marketplace Sale
The Church Street Marketplace Sale will take place on Saturday May 31st from 10AM to 3PM.
Gala Reception
A Gala Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on June 7th. In addition to music and refreshments, artist award winners are announced.
Festival Catalog
Kasini House, the 2008 festival producer, is publishing a catalog of festival participants. The catalog documents the work of festival participants and provides a useful reference to contemporary art in Vermont. The catalog’s cover features the work of a juried artist selected by the festival producers. The catalog will be released at the Church Street Marketplace Sale on May 31st and available at the Gala Reception on June 7th. CLICK HERE...to read about last year's catalog.
