The Miracle of Creativity That Burns from Within (which is neither miraculous nor burning) is a story in two parts: an old man remembers playing with a toy boat from his youth and after the intermission, the old man tries to remember the boat from his youth. Each drawing is beautifully rendered in a fully-developed style. The images are smart and dynamic; the story, emotionally powerful. In May 2007, Kasini House published the series of drawings as a limited-edition book. The drawings along with an installation by Colinpatrick were on view at Kasini House from May 11th to June 23rd, 2007.

ABOUT COLIN-PATRICK CHARLES
Colin-Patrick Charles was born in Seattle, Washington and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Loyola University, Chicago with a B.A. in philosophy. He lives in Burlington, Vermont. Charles draws with India ink on paper and his work often looks more like etchings than drawings. The lines are precise. His composition is dynamic.
