These latex and acrylic on canvas paintings are expressive works based on random nouns provided to the artist and show a brilliant use of color and design. At the opening, the artist will be taking suggestions of nouns from the public and painting them.

Bio
Scott Einsig studied painting, along with anthropology and physics, at Kutztown University (Pennsylvania) under Rhonda Wall, Lynn Krizan, Ana Kuo, and Phoebe Adams. He went on to apprentice under Doug Zucco at White Crow Paper Mill for two years learning paper and printmaking. He has participated in the 2003 and 2004 Invitational Salon of Small Works exhibitions at the New Arts Program in Kutztown, Pennsylvania and has exhibited in various venues since in Pennsylvania and Vermont. His paintings currently are on display at Burton Snowboards Headquarters in Burlington, Vermont.

Statement
I'm working on nouns generated from free association. I've always liked graffiti and the need to express ideas through symbols. Often symbols convey ideas that can be difficult to express verbally. If I say, "draw an apple" most people could draw something that resembles an apple. If I say "draw Immanuel Kant" you might have a more difficult time. I like the idea of random words drawn and placed next to each other with no concern for the actual connection between them. These paintings are compulsive and are made whether or not they are shown. I also like the idea of using discarded materials, my paints are all mis-tints, my brushes come from Wal-Mart, and my stretchers are free scrapped screens.
